On 18th August I will be running a one day workshop at Bodnant Art Studio. The theme will be land and seascape vessels, the image shows work made by participants on a similar workshop last summer. Contact the studio directly to book place.
From the 21st to 23rd January I will be at Scotland's Trade Fair at the SEC in Glasgow. This is the first time I've attended a show other than BCTF, the last pots are in the kiln and I'm sorting out price lists with some new pieces and then we just need to pack the car and drive up to Glasgow.
September and it's time for Helfa Gelf when artists and makers across North Wales open their studio doors to enlighten you to their processes, range of work and creative spaces; including purpose built studios, garden sheds and kitchen tables. There is often cake, tea and coffee on offer too!
I am opening on Saturday 9th, Sunday 10th and Saturday 23rd from 11am to 5pm.
There is normally enough parking for two cars, one on the driveway and one in front of the house. All details can be found by following this link; helfagelf.co.uk/artists/kirsti-brown

Images of ceramics made during 2017 workshops
As part of Ruthin Craft Centre's Making Connections Ceramics; A Craft Journey project I was asked to run a variety of workshops and classes. The first were drop in sessions where more than 50 pinch pots were made by both children and adults using terracotta clay then decoration was added using mark making tools, handles were added and other decorative details such as flowers, dots and holes. The variety of pieces made was impressive and there was a positive engagement with a wide age range in some cases families all sat down together to make a group of pots.
These have all now been fired and have been returned to the craft centre for collection.
Photographs show the pots drying out and then the warm colour of fired terracotta.
